A van resembling Madeline’s, a 2014 dark blue Town & Country Chrysler, was seen traveling down Highway 47 in the direction of Filmore and Houston Counties on the day she vanished. This van’s operator is still a mystery. Madeline was listed as a missing person in danger on April 3rd, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension officially opened an investigation. Up until Wednesday, April 5, when they held their first news briefing, investigators kept quiet. Tom Williams, the chief of police, declared Madeline’s disappearance to be sudden and suspicious.
The phone, wallet, and jacket belonging to Madeline were all discovered inside her house, it was stated at the press conference.
